DESCRIPTION

Positano seems to be standing, leaning against the jagged mountain rock face, with many multicoloured houses that seem to be built in a single cluster, all on top of each other. The town is very unique and incredible capable of attracting attention to many visitors. It is the kingdom of many flights of little steps, of narrow passageways enlivened and coloured by wonderful shops, lively bars, cafes, and restaurants that specialise in seafood. The legend tells that Positano was founded by Poseidon, the god of the sea, for a nymph he loved, Pasitea. Phoenixes and Greeks, during their journeys, landed in this territory, maybe inhabited at that period by Piceni and Oscans. After the Italian unification (1870) many inhabitants of Positano went to look for their fortune in America. During the First World War, many citizens died. Russian and German artists and writers went to live to Positano and thanks to their works of art made Positano famous all over the world. After a break for lunch in a typical Italian Restaurant where you will enjoy the sea food or pizza .

After 40 minutes from Positano ,you will reach to Ravello that is located at the top of the Dragone Valley, really seems as though it is a town, and a garden, at the same time. Enclosing endless numbers of amazing views, and examples of traditional architecture, the beauty of Ravello has been charming travelers, and artists of all nationalities for centuries.Ravello was founded by the Roman aristocracy, and soon it became a very wealthy and powerful town between the X, and the XIII century. Ravello, like Amalfi, owed its prosperity to extensive commerce throughout the Mediterranean, and to its strong textile industry (wool and cotton). The fall of Ravello’s wealth and influence came with Ruggero II, and the Normanni domination. This was furthered even more with the Pisani invasion in 1337, which deprived the entire Amalfi Coast of its independence, and political power. The most famous architectures in Ravello are Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo. These buildings perfectly represent the architectural style which is typicalthroughout the major centres found on the Amalfi Coast. Then ready to go back to the Ship around 5.00 p.m, tired but happy.
