DESCRIPTION

This tour has been designed for the clients who wish to explore Pompeii, which is one of the most important excavation in the world and have an overview of Positano also called the Pearl of the Amalfi Coast.

The departure from your accommodation in Rome will be at 7:30 am and within 2,30 hours will reached to the Ruins in Pompeii. Now it is a buried Roman city near the modern city of Naples. Along with Herculaneum, its sister city, Pompeii was destroyed and completely buried during a long catastrophic eruption of the volcano Mount Vesuvius spanning two days in 79 AD. The volcano collapsed higher roof-lines and buried Pompeii under 20 m (66 ft) of ash and pumice, and it was lost for nearly 1,600 years before its accidental rediscovery in 1748. Since then, its excavation has provided an extraordinarily detailed insight into the life of a city at the height of the Roman Empire. Today, this Unesco World Heritage Site is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the south of Italy, with approximately 3 milions visitors every year.

After 40 minutes from Pompeii ,our next stop will be Positano. The legend tells that Positano was founded by Poseidon god of the seven seas, for a nymph he loved called Pasitea. Phoenixes and Greeks, during their journeys, landed in this territory, maybe inhabited at that period by Piceni and Oscans. After the Italian unification (1861) many inhabitants of Positano went to look for their fortune in America. Russian and German artists and writers went to live to Positano and thanks to their works of art made Positano famous all over the world. The village seems to be standing, leaning against the jagged mountain rock face, with many multicoloured houses that seem to be built in a single cluster, all on top of each other. The town is very unique and incredible capable of attracting attention to many visitors. Enjoy time at leisure to explore this elegant spot with it’s designer boutiques, the narrow passageways enlivened and coloured by wonderful shops, lively bars, caffes, and restaurants that specialise in seafood and pizza. We will return to your accomodation in Rome around 6.00 pm.
