Tuscan Countryside

This Tour has been designed for those clients who wish to enjoy the highlights of the Tuscan countryside and its renowned Red wines of Pienza & Montepulciano!
Your English speaking driver will pick you up directly at your accommodation at 7.30 a.m, and after leaving the city of Rome you will proceed in 2 hours drive north through the countryside. Renown for it fantastic landscape featuring the unique soft rolling hills typical of Tuscany and home of Pienza. The village which was rebuilt during the 1400’s by Pope Pius II, a great humanist and poet, who contracted one of the best Renaissance architects to make his dream come true: building an “Ideal Renaissance City”. Once arrived you’ll see the Papal Palace (Palazzo Piccolomini) ,the church dedicated to Saint Francis ,the main Square within the walls and the Duomo built in the 1459. All the streets are lined with all kinds of shops selling local crafts and regional specialties such as the delicious “pecorino di Pienza” ,wines, and Vergin Olive Oil. Also worth seeing is nearby Sant’Anna in Camprena which was the location used as the set for the movie “The English Patient”.Next, your driver will take you to Montepulciano, called “The Cathedral of Wine” and 55% of its production is exported, to Germany, Switzerland, and the USA. The City is located on a ridge which is about 2000 feet high. It is surrounded by walls which were erected on the orders of Cosimo I of Florence. The church of Madonna di San Biagio, started in the early 1500s and masterwork of Antonio di Sangallo, stands outside the walls.
The connection between Montepulciano and wine production has been documented as far back as 790AD; through the centuries lauding it as “exquisite” and “the king of Wines.” The principal wines produced are Rosso di Montepulciano and Vino Nobile (80% Sangiovese Grape and 20% cannaiolo nero Grape) After the city tour ,you have the opportunity for a free wine Tasting in the best Wine Shop called “Il Pulcino “,where you can try many different labels of red Wines ,salami,cheeses and to see an original Etruscan tomb discovered in 15 Century.After this lovely day, we’ll back to Rome around 6.00 p.m. tired but Happy !

The interested party has the right to obtain the indication of: a. the origin of personal data; b. purpose and procedure of processing; c. the logic applied in the event of processing with the use of electronic means; d. The identification data of the controller, managers and assigned representative in accordance with article 5, paragraph 2; e. the subjects or categories of subjects to whom the personal data may be communicated or who can learn about them as appointed representative in the territory of the State, managers or assigned personnel. 3.
