DESCRIPTION

Your English speaking driver will be at the pier at 8.00 a.m with a sign waiting for you. From Civitavecchia Port to Rome it takes around 1 hour and 15 min .
When you’ll arrive in Rome you’ll see first the Basilica of St.Paul outside the Walls built by the Emperor Constantine on the IV Century B.C. The drive will continue along Ostiense Road and arrive at the Pyramid of Caius Cestius that was built about 18 B.C. as a tomb.
First stop will be the Colosseum, originally called the Flavian Amphitheatre. It is considered one of the greatest works of Roman architecture and Roman engineering Occupying a site just east of the Roman Forum its construction started between 72 AD by the emperor Vespasian and was completed in 80 AD by the son Titus.
Our next stop will be the Circus Maximus the large ancient stadium for chariot races. Behind the stadium you will admire the Palatine Hill where the Augustus Cesare Ottaviano was built. Another stop will be at the top of the Capitol Hill (Caesars Palace) from where you’ll admire the best view of the Roman Forum.
After you’ll see also the City Hall of Rome we will stop at the Piazza Venezia where you will see the Vittorio Emanuele Monument, called by the locals the “wedding cake” because of all the different styles the Monument was built with.
Pantheon will be our next stop, following the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps.We’ll have a stop for lunch in a typical Italian Restaurant where you’ll enjoy Pizza, Pasta or a Salad. After will be the time to visit the Vatican Museum where you will be able to admire the vast collection of masterpieces, including the Raphael Rooms,Sistine Chapel and St. Peter Basilica.Admission to the Museum is 19 Euro per person with reservation. We highly recommend to pre-purchase your Vatican Tickets online to avoid the lines. If you wish to skip the line …. you should better have a Private Guide in the Vatican Museum that I can book for you. It will take 2-3 hours to visit the Museum. Believe me, the Guide it’s optional of course but it’s very recomended .Then ready to go back to the Port of Civitavecchia !
